NTI (Norwegian Institute of Wood Technology)

NTI (Norwegian Institute of Wood Technology) was established in 1949 as an industry research institute for the wood industry in Norway, and is an independent research association with around 110 member companies.

NTI (Norwegian Institute of Wood Technology) works purposefully with research and development within production processes, properties, processing and use of wood, and has Norway's leading professional community within wood and woodworking.

Through research, innovation, development, documentation and knowledge dissemination, we will contribute to competitive solutions in wood.

We have around 35 employees and a turnover of approx. 50 million kroner. Treteknisk is located at the Research Centers at Gaustad/Blindern in Oslo.

NTI (Norwegian Institute of Wood Technology) is the R&D center for the sawmill and timber industry in Norway.

Our main tasks are research and development projects, quality control, quality documentation, laboratory tests and dissemination of knowledge from R&D to the Norwegian wood industry.

Control schemes

NTI (Norwegian Institute of Wood Technology) is involved in a number of control schemes in the timber industry.

The various control schemes have established a very constructive communication between research, manufacturer and consumer.
